Infrastructure stocks, like any other, are affected to at least some extent by the onset of a natural disaster. Gerald Stack, Portfolio Manager of the Magellan Infrastructure Fund, Currency Hedged (ASX code: MICH), explains the particular impact these sorts of events can have on the sector.

Gerald Stack joined Magellan Asset Management in 2007 and is Head of Investments and leads the team responsible for managing Magellan's infrastructure portfolios and providing research coverage of companies within the infrastructure, transport and industrials sector. He also heads Magellan's Investment Committee.

Gerald holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Business Administration, both from Sydney University, and is a Chartered Accountant.
